Small models still win on the edge

The earlier headline asserted that small models win on edge devices without identifying the task or comparison. We withdraw that broad conclusion and the unsupported attribution to the Hugging Face blog.

The SmolLM release presents models with 135 million, 360 million, and 1.7 billion parameters and explains local use. A size-specific benchmark comparison is not proof that smaller models outperform every alternative on a particular device.
