An issue is held back when a claim cannot be traced, when sources conflict without explanation, when wording is too close to a source description, or when a sensitive claim needs human review. Duplicate headlines about one event are merged before publication. The last verified issue stays live until the next one clears these checks.

1. Source first We start with the official announcement, paper, filing, or public record whenever one exists.
2. Independent check for the lead When matching independent coverage exists, the lead shows both source types.
3. Fact before interpretation The brief separates what changed, what is available, and what remains unknown.
4. Independent wording Feed descriptions are temporary source material. Published explanations are rebuilt from facts, source type, availability signals, and open questions.
5. Similarity gate Long matching sequences or excessive phrase overlap stop a story before it can replace the verified edition.
6. Original images only Automatic stories can use only SourceVane-owned artwork or an internal asset with an explicit rights record.
7. Sensitive claims wait Allegations, litigation, criminal claims, personal misconduct, and weakly sourced security or employment claims are withheld for human review.
8. Hold when uncertain If the evidence is thin, duplicated, or contradictory, the story waits for confirmation.
